VoIP Phone System

Summary

Mono County is seeking proposals for a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone system.

Project Overview

The County’s current phone systems are old, difficult to support, and in some cases have reached their end of life. This project will replace the three separate, existing phone systems with one modern system which will be managed and maintained by the IT Department. This new system will service 32 sites, and approx 294 phones.

Objectives

  • Replace the three existing phone systems with a single, modern VoIP based phone system.
  • Provide a hardened and resilient phone system which primarily leverages SIP trunks but is supported by POTS for redundancy.
  • Provide a feature rich user-interface that allows for comprehensive remote management of the system by IT personnel.
  • Adequately connect all separate sites (using existing IP network) with one unified system.
  • Establish an easily managed auto-attendant and call routing feature set.
  • Integrate Unified Messaging with Microsoft Exchange Online (Office 365) e-mail.
  • Provide audio conferencing functionality for up to six callers.
  • Provide new handsets where necessary.
  • Provide secure/encrypted VoIP communications based on NIST approved standards & requirements.
